MoviesMing: Bollywood, Hollywood, South, Korean and regional movies and series, from Dhurandhar to Parasite

MoviesMing became a familiar name for movie lovers in India with a bright, busy page that put everything within reach: a yellow box of featured covers at the top, dark list boxes with yellow headings for each kind of film, and a column of categories down the side. The rebuilt MoviesMing keeps that look, measured from the site's own style sheet: a white wrapper with a soft shadow on a patterned grey page, a dark header bar, a golden-yellow featured box, charcoal list heads in yellow type, navy list rows and cheerful yellow buttons. Every title now opens on the official services that carry it, through one Watch now button.

This guide explains how MoviesMing works and what waits in each list. The first part tours the page. The second part walks the shelves: Bollywood, Hollywood, the South Indian blockbusters, the Korean films that give MoviesMing its own flavour, Punjabi, Marathi and Gujarati cinema, and the Hindi and English series. The third part is practical: services in India and abroad, Hindi audio and subtitles, free and legal viewing, devices, the official address and staying safe. The short version is the page on how to watch on MoviesMing.

The header bar

The page opens with a dark header bar seventy pixels tall, shaded from charcoal to near-black. On the left sits the logo: a golden square with a dark play symbol, then Movies in white and Ming in golden yellow, in tall narrow letters. On the right, a wide white search field with a soft inner shadow invites you to type a movie name, with a small yellow button beside it.

Under the bar runs a charcoal menu with yellow links in the same narrow type: Home, Bollywood, Hollywood, South, Korean, Series, A-Z and My List. Point at a link and its block turns golden with dark text; the page you are on stays golden. On phones, the menu folds into a yellow Menu button beside the logo, and the search field moves onto its own row.

The white wrapper

Everything else sits inside a white wrapper a thousand pixels wide, with a soft shadow that lifts it from the patterned grey background, just as the original did. At the top of the wrapper, the page title and a short introduction sit centred in narrow dark letters. Below them, the page divides into two columns: the categories on the left and the main content on the right.

The categories column

The left column holds three boxes, each under a charcoal head with white letters and rounded top corners. Main Categories lists every shelf in pale grey rows, each with a small golden dot: Bollywood Movies, New Bollywood, Hollywood Movies, South Indian Movies, Korean Movies, Punjabi Movies, Marathi Movies, Regional Movies, Hindi Web Series, Hollywood TV Series and the genre shelves, followed by Latest Series and A-Z. Point at a row and its text turns bright blue.

Top 20 Movies lists the twenty most popular films on the site in a numbered list of navy links, and Links holds the most useful help guides. On phones, the column moves below the main content, so the featured box comes first.

The list boxes

Below the featured box, six list boxes sit in pairs, each under a charcoal head with golden letters and a faint black shadow: Latest Bollywood Movies, Latest Hollywood Movies, Latest South Indian Movies, Latest Korean Movies, Punjabi, Marathi and Gujarati, and Latest Series. Each box holds ten titles in navy arial type on a pale grey background, each with a small music-note icon, exactly the style of the original's lists. The heading of each box opens its full shelf.

Help and note

After the list boxes, a yellow-headed box holds a card for every help guide, and a pale yellow note explains that MoviesMing is a movie guide whose Watch now buttons open the official services. This article follows, and the page closes with a charcoal footer with golden links.

The title page

A title page on MoviesMing shows the poster, a backdrop, the story, the year, the runtime or seasons, the score, the genres, the cast and the director or creators. Series pages list every season with its episodes and air dates. The Watch now button opens the viewing panel, and Add to My List keeps the title on the My List page.

The Watch now button

Press Watch now and a panel opens with a list of countries. Choose yours and the title opens on JustWatch, which lists every subscription, rental, purchase and free service that carries it there, with a direct link to each. The film plays in the service's own app or website, and MoviesMing remembers your country for next time.

Choosing your country

India comes first in the country list, followed by the United States, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Nepal, South Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, South Africa and the Philippines. Catalogues differ between countries, and the list shows exactly which services carry each title where you are.

Open the audio and subtitle menu in the player to choose, and use the Watch now panel to see which service carries each film in your country.

Services in India

In India, JioHotstar carries a big library of Hindi and South films along with Disney and Marvel titles, while Prime Video and Netflix carry many Bollywood releases, Hollywood hits, Korean films and series. ZEE5 and SonyLIV carry Hindi films and shows, Sun NXT and Aha carry Tamil and Telugu films, and MX Player carries many dubbed Korean titles. The streaming services guide lists them all, including the regional services.

Watching from abroad

Indian films are watched by millions of people in the Gulf, in Britain, in North America and across Asia. Netflix and Prime Video carry many of them worldwide, and ZEE5 and SonyLIV offer international plans. In South Korea, local services carry Korean films, and many Indian films reach Netflix there too. Choose your country in the Watch now panel to see exactly what is available.

Hindi dubs and subtitles

Hindi audio is one of the reasons Hollywood, South and Korean films are so popular in India. Most services offer a Hindi track for the big Hollywood and South releases, and many Korean films come with Hindi dubs as well. Subtitles in English and often Hindi are available too. Choose your language in the player's audio and subtitle menu, and switch whenever you like.

Renting and buying

New releases often arrive first to rent on Prime Video, Apple TV, Google TV and YouTube Movies, then join a subscription service a few weeks later. The Watch now panel shows prices side by side with subscription options, so you can choose the best way to watch.

Free and legal viewing

Plenty of films are free and legal to watch. JioHotstar, ZEE5 and MX Player carry many free titles with adverts, and many studios post full films on their official YouTube channels, including regional and older Hindi films. In the United States, Tubi, Pluto TV and Plex carry many films free. The free movies guide has the details.

Picture quality and data

The small HD tag on each featured cover is a reminder that official services stream in high definition, and many new titles are available in 4K. On mobile data, most apps offer a data-saver setting and let you download titles over Wi-Fi to watch later, which keeps your data plan safe.

Phones, computers and televisions

MoviesMing works in any modern browser. On a computer, the categories column and the list boxes sit side by side; on a phone, they stack neatly and the menu folds into one button. Add MoviesMing to your home screen for one-tap access. The devices guide explains how to continue on your television.

My List

My List is the last link in the charcoal menu. On any title page, Add to My List places the title on the My List page, where the covers wait in the same bright grid as the featured box. The list is stored by your browser, so it is ready from your very first title. Changing devices? Export the list as one small file and import it on the new phone or laptop.

More ways to find titles

The search field in the header reads titles, original titles and cast names, so typing Shah Rukh, Ma Dong-seok or Prabhas finds their films. The Main Categories column opens every shelf, the A-Z page lists every title alphabetically, and the genre shelves for Action, Comedy, Thriller and Crime and Horror mix languages. The finding titles guide sums it up.

The official MoviesMing

MoviesMing has one fixed address, shown in your browser's address bar. Bookmark it or add it to your home screen, and it opens with your country and My List in place. The official site guide describes the real MoviesMing: a white page on a patterned background, a dark header bar, a yellow featured box and dark list boxes with yellow headings. The site status page explains a few quick checks if a page is slow.

Staying safe

Safe streaming is simple. Use official apps and websites, keep your phone and browser updated, use a strong password and two-step sign-in on your streaming accounts, and close any pop-up that asks you to install something. MoviesMing has one button per title and sends you only to JustWatch and official services. The safety checklist has a few more tips.

How titles are chosen

MoviesMing's catalogue follows the categories of the original site, with Bollywood, Hollywood, South Indian and regional films and series, and adds a Korean shelf for the thrillers and comedies Indian viewers love. Every title is chosen by hand from TMDB's lists of popular and highly rated films and series, and each one is checked to suit a general audience.

Where the information comes from

Titles, posters, stories, cast, runtimes, seasons, episodes and scores come from TMDB, The Movie Database, through its official interface. The Watch now panel links to JustWatch, which tracks the services in each country. This guide and the help pages are written for MoviesMing, an independent site with its own writing, and the look is rebuilt from the archived style sheet of the original. The About page says more.

Why Korean films work so well in India

Korean and Indian cinema share a love of big emotions. Korean films mix laughter and tears in the same story, value family above everything, and embrace melodrama when the moment calls for it, qualities Indian audiences know well from their own films. Hindi dubs on the major services brought films such as Train to Busan, Parasite and Miracle in Cell No. 7 to millions of Indian homes, and remakes have carried Korean stories into Hindi, Tamil and Telugu cinema too.

If you enjoy Bollywood family dramas, try Ode to My Father; if you love masala action, try Veteran or The Roundup; if you enjoy a good laugh, try Extreme Job. The Korean shelf is a friendly doorway into a whole new cinema.

Extreme Job

Extreme Job deserves a special word. A struggling narcotics squad goes undercover by buying a fried-chicken restaurant opposite a gang's hideout, hoping to watch the criminals. There is one problem: the detectives' chicken, made with a family recipe of spicy marinade, becomes the most popular in the city, and soon they are too busy frying chicken to catch anyone. It is one of the funniest films Korea has made, and it is perfect for a family evening with plenty of snacks.

Miracle in Cell No. 7

Miracle in Cell No. 7 is a tearjerker loved across Asia. Yong-gu, a gentle father with an intellectual disability, is wrongly imprisoned, and his cellmates, touched by his kindness, smuggle his young daughter into the prison to see him. It is funny, warm and heartbreaking, and it has been remade in Turkey, the Philippines and Indonesia. Keep a box of tissues nearby.

RRR

RRR is the South Indian film that conquered the world. Set in the 1920s, it follows two revolutionaries, Bheem and Ram, whose friendship is tested by their secret missions, and it builds to scenes of breathtaking action. Its song Naatu Naatu won the Academy Award for Best Original Song, and audiences in cinemas from Mumbai to Los Angeles danced along. Watch it in Telugu with subtitles or in Hindi with the family.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is one of the most loved Marvel films of recent years. The crew of misfits sets out to save Rocket, and the story finally reveals the painful past of the sharp-tongued raccoon. It is funny, colourful and surprisingly moving, with a soundtrack full of classic songs, and it closes the Guardians story with real heart.

Arcane

Arcane is one of the most beautiful animated series ever made. It follows two sisters, Vi and Jinx, torn apart and set on opposite sides of a conflict between the gleaming city of Piltover and the undercity of Zaun. Every frame looks like a painting, and the story of family, loss and invention grips viewers who meet its world for the first time. Its two seasons make a perfect weekend binge.

Kota Factory

Kota Factory speaks to every family with a child preparing for exams. Filmed in black and white, it follows Vaibhav, a teenager preparing for engineering entrance exams in the coaching city of Kota, and his teacher Jeetu Bhaiya. It is honest, warm and full of the pressure and hope of exam years, and many parents watch it alongside their children.

A week with MoviesMing

Here is one way to enjoy a week of films from every list. On Monday, start with a Korean comedy such as Midnight Runners. On Tuesday, try a Marathi classic such as Sairat. On Wednesday, watch two episodes of Panchayat. On Thursday, pick a Tamil thriller such as Maharaja. On Friday, choose the newest Bollywood film from the Featured box. On Saturday, invite friends for John Wick: Chapter 4 or RRR, and on Sunday share a family film such as Luca or Chaar Sahibzaade.

Festival favourites

Festivals are the busiest movie nights of the year. For Diwali, a big Bollywood release from the Featured box is a tradition, and Happy New Year brings the glitter. For Eid, Sultan is a Salman Khan favourite. For Gurpurab, Chaar Sahibzaade is watched by Punjabi families around the world, and for Ganesh Chaturthi, Sairat and Natsamrat are Marathi classics. For Pongal, a Tamil blockbuster such as Leo or Coolie fills the evening.

New to Indian or Korean cinema?

Friends from other countries often ask where to start. For Indian cinema, RRR is a thrilling spectacle, 12th Fail an inspiring true story and English Vinglish a gentle, funny film about finding your voice. For Korean cinema, Parasite is the obvious first choice, Train to Busan the most exciting and Miracle in Cell No. 7 the most moving. English subtitles are available on the official services, and the Watch now panel shows where each film plays.

Worth watching again

Some films reward a second viewing. Parasite and Decision to Leave are full of details that only make sense the second time, Talaash plays very differently once you know its secret, and Everything Everywhere All at Once reveals new jokes and feelings on every visit. Extreme Job and Carry On Jatta are funnier each time.

Reading the scores

Each title page shows a score out of ten from the votes of TMDB's worldwide community of film fans. Regional films and new releases often have fewer votes, so their scores move more with each vote. The story, the cast and the genres on the title page help you decide the rest.

Family night

For a family evening with children, start with an animated film such as Luca, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish or Chaar Sahibzaade, move to a warm comedy such as Extreme Job or English Vinglish, and end with an inspiring story such as Bhaag Milkha Bhaag or 12th Fail. Most of them are offered in several languages, so everyone can watch in the language they prefer, and the stories suit every age.

Thriller night

For a night of suspense, pick one thriller from each shelf. Start with the Korean mystery The Call, move to the Hindi detective story Talaash, and end with the Tamil revenge tale Maharaja or the Telugu police thriller HIT: The Third Case. On the series shelf, Asur and Paatal Lok keep the tension going for a whole weekend. Keep the lights low and your phone on silent.

Ma Dong-seok

Ma Dong-seok, known to many fans as Don Lee, is one of the most popular Korean stars in India. His broad shoulders, gentle smile and famous one-punch fights have made him a hero of action fans everywhere. On MoviesMing he appears in Train to Busan as a tough husband protecting his pregnant wife, in The Gangster, the Cop, the Devil as a crime boss hunting a killer, and in The Roundup as a detective who solves every problem with his fists. Each of his films is a guaranteed good time.

Bong Joon-ho

Bong Joon-ho is the Korean director most admired around the world. Parasite made history at Cannes and the Academy Awards, and Snowpiercer, his first English-language film, imagines the last survivors of a frozen Earth living on a train divided by class. His films mix thrills, comedy and sharp ideas, and they reward careful watching.

Tamil superstars

Tamil cinema is built around stars with devoted fans. Rajinikanth, the Superstar, returned in Coolie to packed cinemas, and his entrances are greeted with cheers from Chennai to Singapore. Vijay, known to fans as Thalapathy, leads Leo, a thriller about a café owner whose past catches up with him. Their films open like festivals, with fans dancing in front of the cinema screens, and they are some of the biggest events in Indian cinema every year.

Prabhas

Prabhas became a national star with the Bāhubali films, which return on MoviesMing as Bāhubali: The Epic, a single grand version of the two-part saga. He leads Kalki 2898-AD, a mythological science-fiction spectacle, and The Rajasaab, a horror comedy set in an old mansion. His films are made on an enormous scale, and they are best watched on the biggest screen in the house.

Korean stories in Indian cinema

Korean films have inspired several Indian remakes, a sign of how well their stories travel. Indian film-makers have adapted Korean thrillers, dramas and comedies into Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, often keeping the heart of the story and adding songs and family scenes. Watching an original Korean film such as Miracle in Cell No. 7 or Veteran is a fascinating way to see where these stories began, and the Watch now panel shows where each one plays.

Rani Mukerji and Mardaani

Rani Mukerji has played Shivani Shivaji Roy, a fearless police officer, across the Mardaani films, and Mardaani 3 brings her back to take on a new criminal network. The series is known for its tough, realistic look at crimes against women and children, and for a heroine of unshakeable courage. It is one of Hindi cinema's most admired police series, and it pairs well with the true-story dramas Pink and Neerja.

Sport on screen

Sport films are some of the most uplifting on MoviesMing. Bhaag Milkha Bhaag follows the life of Milkha Singh, the Flying Sikh, from the trauma of Partition to the Olympic track, with a stunning physical performance by Farhan Akhtar. Sultan follows a wrestler from Haryana who fights his way back to the ring, and Peddi is a new rural sports drama from Telugu cinema. They are ideal films to watch with young athletes in the family.

War and history

Several films on the shelves bring history to life. Border 2 returns to the war film that moved audiences a generation ago, The Admiral: Roaring Currents recreates a famous sea battle of sixteenth-century Korea, and A Taxi Driver follows a Seoul taxi driver during the Gwangju uprising of 1980. Ode to My Father follows one man through decades of Korean history, and Bajirao Mastani brings the Maratha Empire to the screen in lavish style. The Forgotten Army on the series shelf tells the story of the Indian National Army.

Horror night

For a night of scares, MoviesMing has horror from three countries. Start with the Korean village mystery The Wailing or the found-footage Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum, move to the Gujarati sequel Vash Level 2, and end with a laugh from Bhooth Bangla or The Rajasaab. On the series shelf, GHOUL and Betaal bring supernatural horror to Indian television. Keep a blanket close and the lights low.

Romance night

For a romantic evening, pick one love story from each list. Start with the Bollywood favourite Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, with its mountain treks, weddings and unforgettable songs, then try the sweeping Jab Tak Hai Jaan or the newest hit, Saiyaara. From Maharashtra, Sairat is a love story the whole country fell for, and from Punjab, Lahoriye brings romance across the border. For something gentler, the Korean drama Miracle in Cell No. 7 is a family story full of love. Keep the tissues close and let the songs carry the evening.

Comedy night

For an evening of laughter, the lists are full of choices. From Korea, Extreme Job and Midnight Runners are two of the funniest action comedies ever made. From Punjab, Carry On Jatta and Super Singh bring big-hearted laughs, and from Bollywood, Welcome To The Jungle continues a much-loved comedy series. From Hollywood, Free Guy and Bullet Train mix jokes with action, and on the series shelf, Panchayat is the gentlest comedy of all. Share them with friends and a big bowl of snacks.

Action night

For an evening of pure adrenaline, start with KILL, a fierce fight aboard a night train, then move to the Korean chase Veteran and finish with John Wick: Chapter 4. From the South, K.G.F: Chapter 2 and Devara: Part 1 bring larger-than-life heroes, and from Bollywood, War 2 and Pathaan bring stylish spy action. Turn up the sound and enjoy the ride with friends.

A last word

MoviesMing is made for people who love films from everywhere: the songs and stars of Bollywood, the spectacle of South Indian cinema, the thrills of Korean thrillers and the warmth of Punjabi, Marathi and Gujarati stories. Pick a cover in the yellow box or a title in a dark list, press Watch now, and enjoy it in the best quality on the service that suits you.
